Is it on 1210 or 94.1?

1210 has it for 100% certain. Unsure if 94.1 has a simulcast or not.

Howard has two doubles and it’s only the third. Hooray!

I don’t know where confidence this early fits on the importance scheme with him, but to me, it’s a good sign that he’s apparently seeing the ball well today.

Howard’s 0-2 against Dotel witha K in his career.
That’s called due for a dinger.

Franzke mentioned Jake’s 20 walks in 27 innings last year, and I was prompted to look at the game log based on remembering him getting off to a great start early on.
Indeed he walked 2 in his first 7 innings. Injuries sort of rushed him up last year after a terrific spring, but this team can’t afford that nonsense this year. I viewed him very positively last year, and qith polar opposite apprehension this year.

If you like Keith Law, he has some poignant insights into the Phils organization in an interview with Crashburn Alley. Here’s one of his observations.
Eric: I’ve spent a disproportionately large amount of time thinking (and writing) about Domonic Brown and why things haven’t worked out like we all thought they were going to. Do you have info or a theory as to why he is where he is right now?
Keith: He hasn’t developed at all since reaching AAA. His swing hasn’t improved, his reads haven’t improved, even his throwing motion, which I thought would be one of the easiest things to fix, hasn’t improved. I’m sure blame for that is shared among several parties, but it’s hard to think of a prospect this promising who stalled so completely after reaching AAA.

Could an impressive Gillies beat JMJ out for an OF job? We have plenty of 1st base depth, and Gillies can play the entire outfield. What could be had if we put JMJ on the block?

I can’t see it, and here’s why. Gillies needs to play. To play, he needs to have health. He’s a full, solid MILB year away from being a serious MLB candidate. They have Incarte (if I spelled that close to correctly), who’s a Rule 5 that offers Gillies or Revere type depth that is more practical, but that’s only if they want that type depth.
Mayberry is of little trade value. He’s an exonomically viable effective hitter against lefties. I would guess he’ll likely stick.

From Zoelicki…
Torii Hunter on Roy Halladay today: “If he gets better from here he’s scary.” Halladay also encouraged. Fastball 89-91, according to radar.

Last year, it took until December 32nd to get the first comeback win of the year. Bleep that bullbleep. 5-4, Daytwat, as we go to the 8th. The future is now. Time for a 5 run rally!

Speaking of whom, I wonder to what extent in the short term Brown will be discussed within the Yankee organization as a potential replacement for Curtis Granderson, who was leaving after this year anyway, and is now shelved until mid May with a busted forearm. I’d think his name HAS to come up in discussion. The baseball gods keep challenging Brian Cashman to keep a straight face, and it gets tougher and tougher.

lol, too funny. MLB.com, subject to the brilliance of Philly radio programming stays on same feed, and in lieu of listening to Mini’s game determining 9th inning 5-5 at bat, we are listening to Harry Donahue and Johnny Baum preview Owl hoops as the Phils pull a mid pitch switch to FM stereo. I’m glad Harry is still on the air, and I’m sure Baum can still dunk, but what do that got to do with Mini’s at bat. Nice job by MLB.com. Somebody wake up!
This is worse than Heidi.

Solid day for Martinez. 3 for 5. Vic is 3-3. You do the math on Mini with that hint.

MLB.com continues carrying Owls hoops. Maybe the easiest thing is to convert the blog to Owls Nation. We could discuss whatever happened to Eddie Mast for starters.

It’s a final now, Phils and Tigers kiss sisters, knotted at 5.
And, if you’re scoring at home, on MLB.com, Temple leads the opponent, 8-6.
