The Phillies tangle with the Braves the day after losing 6-1 in a rare Spring training night game with the Red Sox. Adam Morgan will take the hill for the varsity squad and Jermaine Mitchell, in center, and Freddy Galvis, at third, get an extra chance to show they deserve to make the Phillies this afternoon.

Pretty routine at bats for Howard and Brown off thge lefty Maholm in the first. RyHo going the other way on a first pitch opposite feild ppop single, and Brown goes 0-2 on a couple curves before grounding to Freeman.
This could be a challenging afternoon. McCarhy’s on assignment, meaning he’s actually working, I guess, and after one inning of Sarge hyperventilating, I’m hard pressed to decide if this might not be worse than 4 quarters of either King Hill or Mike Boryla with him “working” all 9 innings.
