fast trip tp the bottom of the 3rd. Here we are.

Let’s be honest here. Chances of Kendrick not being overly amped aren’t very good. It’s the worst kept secret planet wide.

Probably best to hope the settle down comes sooner than later.

Spell check is indicating I spelled amped right.

    Steeeee-rike 1!

Ken read my comment on the other thread.

All I know about their broadcasts are Denny Mathews and Paul Splittorff. Spell check said I spelled Paul’s name wrong. That’s possible, or maybe it just spell checks the living. And they might have worked a game together last some 20 years ago for all I know. No DH took Butler out I guess.

Next best thing. 1-1 RISP. Gotta start somewhere.

Well I guess since I started young and Howard Young becomes the weak link and Howard produces.

Just a casual look at Youngs career numbers asks yuo why in 2013 yuod bring him in to hit 5th?

    Well why Ken?

What is this spell sheck you speak of?

I would use it if able.

But I am posting as a guest I have no actual account.

The editors just applied it to those of me that type terribly. All mine, baby.

      D Brown.

    Time to move Brown up.

Personally, I have little problem with that since I’m cool with 2 of the 3 able to put in good at bats against lefties. But in a month, with Chooch and D Young in the order. things should get better offensively. Spellcheck don’t like Chooch. I don’t like spellcheck.

I’m told the DN cut the payoff in the homerun payoff inning? Is that accurate?

I still have that sports illustrated somewhere.

The WS that fatured the best 3b match up of all time.

    Boom for Kratz

Watch Phils will score 15 and Howard and Young wont get anything cause I have in fantasy :(

good angle. Chase and Cano ’09 might be the same thing for 2B.

Had KK gone deep there, I’d have killed to have seen a live shot of Cliff’s reaction.

So close, and back to the top of the order. Great job by the bottom pf the order from 6 down.

    AFDub,

You couldn’t get Brown in fantasy?

  • Posts: 0 Andrew From Waldorf

Ive said for years the core of the line up was the problem. Now we have to get through the 2 ,3,4,5 spots in the order.

Although 3 has been decent so far.

Revere grounds into alot of DPs?

7 and 8 the last couple years. Couple this spring. Team doubles him up, they should celebrate.

5 straight Phil hitters retired as the Phils have been stuck on 9 hits in the 3rd. 2-3-4 to shake things up again

Mayberry’s dad is an obvious guess to the trivia q on who finished 2nd to Lynn in ’75 MVP balloting. For some reason, I’m thinking Amos Otis.

Course Brett could be the answer, too, and I’m wondering if Hal McRae had a career year around then.

    1926 world series

    Cardinals 2b Rogers Hornsby
    Yankees 2B Tony Lazzeri

    Kinda blows away Utley Cano.

    Well not kinda

      that’s pretty fair.

Guess you wouldn’t bite if I mentioned Pete and Butch Hobson for 3rd base competition. :)

To rank them: 1) Hornsby, far below: 2) Utley, 3) Lazzeri, 4) Cano

    1914 gave us

2B Eddie Collins for the Philadelphia Athletics
2B Johnny Evers for the Boston Braves

    Both hall of famers also.

Pete is in the discussion with Brett and Schmidt.

    Hobson is not.

Although he was ( and may still be) managing the southern maryland blue crabs.

Utley is a joy to watch.

But its like watching secretariet race if he only had 3 legs.
You can see the greatness but its too bad hes broke down.

    Big game for Howard!

    Come on Young

He sure looks to me like he’s moving and running well. Not like 6-7 years ago, but he looks fine to me.

Wheels made a great point about how his steal took the Royals out of the shift, and RyHo hoit what would have been an easy out with the shift on.

Give Howard credit, but Utley is such a difference maker.

The good news…Schmidt and Brett in the booth when we come out of commercial.

The bad news….Sarge will also be there.

That was such great television. George and Schmitty really roll together well., We’ve known it forever, but MLB is lucky the Brett family passed it’s way. God Bless Brother Ken, who pitched for the Phils. George is The Man. Three bleeping ninety. Good lord.

Ken keep rubbing it in that I am forced to watch the Royals feed?

They dont even have a trivia question.

Just as a point of reference Schenk

Lazzeri is a hall of famer. Utley will not unless he plays quite a few years as a cripple.

Lazz ranked 148 on baseball refernce
    Utley 255

Lazz career was over at 33 and Utley is still playing at 34.

Of Course Lazzeri played in a line up with uth and Gehrig
    Utley gets Howard and Rollins.

Wonder if 4 runs is gonna win this sucker. Losing a 4-0 lead would be pitiful.

If the Gashoiuse Gang played the Tigers in the 30′s, and I think they might have, Frisch and Gehringer should have matched up as 2B. That’d be another set of guys that’d be high on the list of opposing 2B in the Series. Cards definitely were in back then, maybe 2-3 times.

  • Posts: 0 Andrew From Waldorf

    I have direct TV

I purchase the baseball package every year since 2007. Coincidence?

But its only offering the Royals feed today.

Blowing this lead would indeed be a blow.

    I benched Butler

if you pitch to him. He will do damage.

    Cardinals vs Tigers

    Frisch vs Gehringer.

Both hall of famers both hit 3rd in their respective line ups.

Pretty sure KC had 5 players with 2 hit games in their first 3 games. Gordon could make for their 3rd one to do it today. Already their team high hit game of the first

    Are you serious?

    Who is horsch?

And nice play in right Nix

You serve what purpose on this roser

Tough pen to come back on, too.

Good ballclubs don’t lose this sort of game. Well, often anyway. But lotsa at bats left, so we’ll see.

Certainly have to stop the bleeding here.

The object this inning is the pinch hitter for Horst bats with 2 on.

If that happens, removed as it is, I’m thinking Frasden.

    KC

Has had a guy making his first ever start for the franchise in their first 4 games.

This is hardly a world beater team.

I guess I need to follow spring training to brace myself for things like Horsch.

That’s about 10 Phils in a row retired.

Good way to solve any RISP at bats.

  • Posts: 0 Andrew From Waldorf

    11 in a row retired.

    As Yogi would say

Its deja vu all over again

and again and again and again

Kendrick is no wallflower. He’s reportedly been pissed a few times when he was yanked “early>” That wasn’t exactly a bad decision to pull him, but Charlie wouldn’t have pulled any of the Big 3 (at least Doc in the past), but the downhill slope since KK left is just frustrating,.

Bases loaded and no one out

    Here coms the old man

    NO ONE OUT

    ts is a professional team?

    This is our Bulpen?

    this is our manager?

    Leave horsch out there/.

Entertain me. Leave him for 3 innings old man

Your offense is done hitting anyway

    Why tax the entire pen?

Looks at these professional at bats by a semi pro team

We can look forward to the phillies not having anymore
unless utley or brown decide to look at a pitch or 2

I forget all the details of the other night, but I remember it felt like he got criticized more than he deserved. And at least Charlie yanked him fast. But today, and when you need him to pick up a teammate, yuck. But it was compounded by Dom’s miserable play.

  • Avatar of "Big Ed" Delahanty

How about double play balls and not walks to reload the bases. Durbin with Phils=mediocre. With the Braves=well above average! Back to the Phils= not impressive by any means. Sorry, guys, I am really disgusted right now!!! Actually, at 9-4, I’m beyond disgusted.

Durbin should have never made this team. Manuel should have pulled Kendrick after five innings, and that failure to make that decision is a major reason why we are losing right now.
    Damn, I’m pissed !!!!
