Beloved Phillies catcher and 2010 Wall of Fame inductee Darren Daulton is awake and talking to his family after successful surgery to remove both brain tumors, reports our Pat Gallen via Twitter.
Daulton is reportedly in good spirits after the seven hour surgery. Dutch was awake for the entirety of the procedure and will require three to four weeks of recovery. Daulton is expected to return home by July 4 and may need speech therapy and radiation, common treatments after this sort of operation.
Everyone at Phillies Nation sends our warmest thoughts to Dutch as he recovers – we encourage you to continue to send your well wishes to dutch@975thefanatic.com.
