Tonight’s game between the Phillies and Braves was originally going to feature a pitching matchup of two great pitchers in Cliff Lee and Tim Hudson. However, the Braves elected to push Hudson’s start back and instead will send Paul Maholm to the mound tonight.

Both pitchers are coming off good starts–Lee with a seven inning, three run performance against the Dodgers, and Maholm with a 6.2 inning, 2 run performance against the Diamondbacks. Lee has had the Braves’ number in his last six starts against them, as he has a 4-1 record with a 0.78 ERA. Maholm is 5-2 with a 4.66 ERA against the Phillies in his career.

Lineup: M. Young 3B, Utley 2B, Rollins SS, Howard 1B, Brown LF, D Young RF, Revere CF, Quintero C, Lee P.

YOUR GAMEDAY BEER Abita Purple Haze

Brewed in Braves country, Abita’s Purple Haze is a perfect accompaniment to watching the Phillies play in the heart of Dixie. A fruity beer with a hint of wheat in the aftertaste, it’ll pair well with some Memphis-style barbecue and a side of coleslaw.  -RD
