The Phils look to win the series from the first-place Braves in Atlanta. This one looks like it will start right around 9:00 PM tonight.

Stay dry!

Your gameday beer: Curious Traveler Summer Shandy

The old-tyme mustache and Teddy Roosevelt-era glasses can act as a great disguise for a Phillies team who may need it when they return home Thursday. Curious Traveler Summer Shandy is a rich beer with a lemony taste. Goes perfect on a nice summer night like tonight in the Philly region as we try to hold on to what is left of summer.

Go Phillies!

Another must win for the Phillies.

Unfortunately its 2-0 braves in the first.

And they normaly don’t score 2 in a series or a game.

This might seem a little more insistent than I intend it, but if you’re aware of JHey’s really excellent stretch since Fredi moved him to leadoff, coinciding with a bunch of Brave wins, you can’t help but wonder about DB’s possibilities as a leadoff guy. Power AND quite capable of getting good OBP results.

While it’s worked well for a time with the Braves, Davey did it both with Werth and Harper, too.
Nit the results the Braves have gotten, but in both instances, despite the Nats poor offensive show this year, both clubs had decent power they could still fill 3-45 with and not sacrifice tremendously.

Jesus, what an inning so far. I love first inniong game, set, matches.

Anyway, the Phils might have 10 games left this year against playoff contenders where you are sort of obligated to play your best lineup. THIS Phillie contingent NEEDS Dom in the middle of the lineup. Next year, might not need him as much. Maybe geta corner semi bopper, Ruf bangs 20ish,who knows about the first baseman, but THIS is the time to see how Brown acclimates to the leadoff spot.

He’s certainly not gonna perform less effectively than Jimmy.

10 hitters in, and zero groundouts for Lannan so far. Somehow, that seems like a guy with a fatal illness having a cold.

I thought that was foul at first and got excited that Jimmy could pop up twice in 1 at bat.

That;d fire ‘em up in South Philly.

    Yo, Jimmy, yas suck!

Fun fact, on a related note: most extra base hits in the history of baseball, by players 5’8″ and under:

      1) P.Waner 909
      2) Morgan 813
      3) Rollins 748
      4) Berra 728
      5) Raines 713
