According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, the Phillies will make an announcement as early as tomorrow bringing on both Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs to the broadcast booth in 2014.

After speaking with several former players –  including Mitch Williams, Kevin Stocker, and Mickey Morandini –  the team is deciding on two broadcasters to replace Chris Wheeler and Gary Matthews, instead of just one as previously thought.

Analysis: I thought Stocker was the lone hire here as he does a fine job with the Pac-12 network and is known enough in the Philadelphia region.

Moyer was a bit dry in his go-round with ESPN, and with the media during his time in Philly, so he’ll have to work on relating to the fans.

Stairs is a complete wild card who could end up being a star in this blue-collar town. He a beer-chugging everyman who seems to speak his mind and was strong enough in his interviews to impress the team into giving him a job.

How the two will work on-air with Tom McCarthy is not yet known.
