Ruf Suffers Oblique Injury, Roster Spot in Doubt?

Not good news for Darin Ruf. The outfielder suffered an oblique injury during BP and will be evaluated tomorrow, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Ruf was hitting .217 with two homers and seven RBI this spring and had a very good shot at one of the final bench spots. This clearly will change things as the season begins on March 31 in Texas.

I’ve long thought Ruf should be on this roster – and at some point this season he will be. This injury could take time depending on the severity, so we may not see that for a while if the news isn’t positive.

What date is April Fools Day this year? I always get confused by when holidays are cause some of ‘em have more rotation than a 12-6 Uncle Charlie.

Seems I read my first AFJ today. Must have. Copy said Gregory Allan Maddux is throwing out the first pitch of Phils V Texas for OD14. Whatever the proper time reference might be, you coulda made a whole buncha bucks betting on Maddux earning that honor at a Texas game over Ryan, Nolan. It’s kinda sorta an off the wall selection that can kinda sorta be justified, but it’s kinda sorta weird.

Hope Maddux sticks around to offer some comments on Vintage’s outing that day.

To make matters worse….does that mean that Mayberry now sticks with the team?
