A Note for Tonight:

The Phillies dropped the first game of the series on Monday night to their old friend JA Happ. A lineup featuring Freddy Galvis, John Mayberry Jr, and Jayson Nix shockingly couldn’t muster any offense, and were shut out for the second time this year. Tonight wont be any easier for the Phillies as they face arguably Toronto’s best pitcher in Drew Hutchison.

Hutchison, a former top prospect, is back from Tommy John surgery and has had early success. in six starts this season he’s posted a 3.82 ERA, but when you take out his April 6th start against the Yankees (six earned runs in three and a third) his ERA is a mere 2.43. Since recovering from surgery Hutchison has seen his fastball top out at 95 MPH. His changeup is his out pitch, but he’ll mix in a good slider as well. He possesses great control and will pose a tough test for the Phillies tonight.

Jimmy Rollins will remain out tonight with a sore groin, so Phillies fans will get to see more of Freddy Galvis at shortstop. Galvis picked up a single last night, just his second hit of the season, which brought his average to .56 on the season.

Lineup: Revere CF / Ruiz C / Utley 2B / Howard 1B / Byrd RF / Brown LF / Galvis SS / Asche 3B / Hamels P
