phillies

Cincinnati Reds (18-21) at Philadelphia Phillies (17-21)
Nationals

Starting Pitchers:
CIN: Alfredo Simon (4-2, 2.89)
vs.
PHI: Kyle Kendrick (0-3, 3.98)

Time: 7:05, Citizens Bank Park
TV: CSN
Weather: Showers, 65
Media: Twitter and Facebook

A Note for Tonight:

This is certainly a winnable series for the Phillies as the Reds are missing the heart of their order in Joey Votto and Jay Bruce. Votto did not make the trip to Philadelphia, he’s out with a quad strain. Let’s see if they can take advantage.

Ben Revere is out tonight, dealing with a stomach virus. Jimmy Rollins slides up a spot and hopefully can use his .357 OBP to his advantage. Revere’s OBP is a lowly .284.

Lineup:

Rollins SS / Ruiz C / Utley 2B / Howard 1B / Byrd RF / Brown LF / Mayberry CF / Asche 3B / Kendrick P

Someone paid more for the 2014 autographed baseball set than the 2008 set? That seems odd.

Back in the day, Alfredo Simon was originally signed as an amateur free agent by the Phillies.

Back in the day, huh? I wonder what point in time constitutes use of the phrase back in the day. That was 1999, so I guess it isn’t IN appropriate, but it still made me think of the humor of a 17 year old using the term ex in describing a relationship. 17 just seems young to have had anyone that could qualify as ex. Then again, they don’t make kids like they used to.

Ooo… 1-2-3 Ks for Bastardo. Shame the Phils won’t do anything t take advantage of it.

Hey schmenkman, watching these last few games I’ve been wondering to myself; what is our bullpens ERA in games that we are ahead compared to their ERA when we are behind??

It seems to me that they’re really good when we are losing and they’re terrible when we have a lead, the majority of the time..
    Thanks
