Amazing story about the rescue of Ruiz friends. I can’t imagine what it might be like in the water holding onto a boogie board for 35 hours.

    Great bunt!

When you get a guy like this on the ropes with no outs, you gotta make him pay. Just a lost opportunity.

Unbellievable… Phils 7-8-9 load the bases with no outs, and no runs score…

GRRRRR… bases loaded, no outs… and can’t score. Yet, the Rockies can score their guy.

(sigh) See that, Phils? That’s how you score a run.

No team has scored more than the Phillies over the last week and a half, by the way.

Whoa, Ben revere, the power hitter??

Sandy did it again. Brings in Manshit when game is winnable. How many times is he going to go to this guy when we can still win. 2 batters two ball off the wall. Christ sake fire Sandburg or take pitching decision from him. Don’t want to hear from you on this again Schmenk

What do you want him to do keep using the same 3 or 4 relievers every night so we can burn them out by august… It’s not Sandbergs fault that outside of 4 guys the bullpen is scrubs, nor is it Sandbergs fault that any particular pitcher cannot do they’re job and hold the game where it is at… It is what they are paid to do after all…. Besides I’m ready to see manship shipped the hell outta here anyway

Good job, Hogey. It shows that someone besides Schmenkman has an intelligent insight to Sandburg’s (or any other manager’s) bullpen use, and it also saves Ol’ Schmenk from having to jump in once again with a useless rebuttal.

Right, only Hogey and Schmenkman have intelligent insight.

Lefty, I didn’t mean to imply that there are no other intelligent people on this site> You yourself happen to be one of the insightful ones and you combine it with being polite.

It’s simply that the comment I responded to mentioned Schmenkman (who I’m sure has better things to do than respond to the perpetually obtuse) specifically. Because Hogey was first to stand behind Schmenlman, he got the compliment. Had you or anyone else been first, the praise would have been given to that person.

Perhaps I should have said “others” instead of “someone,” but I was pressed for time earlier, and words aren’t always selected to maximum effect when one is in somewhat of a rush.

I typed that with my tounge in cheek my friend, no worries. It just so happens that c. schreiber and I had just gone through the exact same argument a few days ago. :-)

Great win by the Phils tonight!

Did I hear those stats correct on Manshit from last year with the Rocks. 15 games, 0 – 5 with a 7 ERA!!!!!!! The bats were jumping out of the batrack when dope Sandy brought him in. The Rocks were all smiles. The guy is worthless.

Mayberry deserves all the blame for the triple. Totally should have caught that bball.

Hogey the object of this game called baseball is winning. I’m only pointing out that when the game is still winable you CANNOT bring in Manshit or others like him if you intend to win. Yes, bring the same 3 or 4 in who can get an out or as you said and I’ve said for over a month now. Release him and bring your best up from the farm. They would have to be better, can’t be any worse.

You cannot overuse your beat guys and expect to compete… I absolutely agree manship has to go yes, and while we’re on it Mayberry should be shipped out too… But once again this isn’t Sandbergs fault, it os the roster he was given

Yep, Sandburg should never bring Manship into a still-winnable game. He should bring in one of his other arson squad members, or he should just use Adams and Papelbon until their arms drop off and he can’t even get a save when the team has an actual lead.

This is on Amaro, not Sandburg. He’s the one who couldn’t find a better option than Manship.

Oh, lookie, lookie Defratus is NOW pitching after it became 4 run deficit. Hum, maybe he should have been in last inning and Manshit saved for blowouts.

I will give you that, but what would have happened if defratus came in and gave up runs… The bottom line is all of these pitchers have to do there job, and if they can’t they should be shut canned until we find someone who can

Hogey, If Defratus gives up the runs, than OK use Manshit as the game is almost over. Manshit and others like him Camp & Garcia should be last ones to called into any game (Yeah I know their in LHV) when its a blowout either way. Can you believe that Amaro resigned Camp after releasing him. He tried to catch on with another team but no one wanted him so he came crawling back to Ruby who resigned him. I wouldn”t be surprised if he isn’t up again sometime this season.

Hamels proves yet again that he is not an ace.

If you mean have a game where he’s not dominant, then every elite pitcher proves he’s not an ace several times a season.

There really are no aces left in baseball. I miss the days where a pitcher goes out and throws a shutout. But Hamels is overpaid and overrated.
