Jimmy Rollins Family Foundation: A Night in Paris

Posted by Brian Michael, Fri, October 12, 2012 03:30 PM Comments: 0

The Jimmy Rollins Family Foundation has partnered with Prevent Child Abuse PA to host A Night in Paris at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Monday, November 12, 2012, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Join us for a romantic evening reminiscent of old Paris! A Night in Paris will be an evening of culinary delights and live jazz to raise funds for Prevent Child Abuse PA.

Enjoy dishes from Chef J.C. Nuñez paired with aperitifs and fine wines. Plus, there will be a special performance by two celebrity dancers from ABC’s hit show, Dancing with the Stars. Exciting live and silent auction items will be available for bidding.

The event will be celebrity driven, as Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies will invite his friends from MLB, the NFL, NBA and NHL along with musicians, actors and television personalities to attend. These celebrities will join our key sponsors in an exclusive VIP area that features cigars and wine tastings.

Proceeds from A Night in Paris will benefit Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania with sponsorships ranging from $25,000.00 – $5,000.00 and individual tickets for $300.00 each. (That might seem like a lot, but if you can afford it, this is easily the best chance to actually talk to your favorite Phillies. They are super chill and approachable during charity events and everyone is having a great time.)

For more information on tickets or sponsorships, please send us an email.

Phillies Nation Sponsoring Phillies ALS event on July 26

Posted by Brian Michael, Sun, July 08, 2012 09:20 AM Comments: 3

Phillies Phestival This year, the Phillies will hold their Phillies Phestival benefiting the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter on Thursday, July 26. Since 1984, the Phillies have raised over $12 million to combat the progressive neuromuscular disorder, known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”. Most of the money has been raised through this annual event which features your favorite Phillies in autograph and photo booths, games for kids, memorabilia auctions and lots of yummy food.

To thank fans who support this worthy cause, Phillies Nation will be sponsoring the event through an ad in the event program. The ad will offer a special prize to attendees who visit the secret URL displayed. It’s just a small token of thanks to those Phillies fans who like to get involved with helping others.

You can find more information about the Phillies Phestival on our Facebook page as well as additional information on the Phillies Nation Foundation which supports the causes of Phillies fans around the world.

Phillies Nation TV 17 – Utley’s Return, Wifflepalooza

Posted by Pat Gallen, Tue, June 26, 2012 03:39 PM Comments: 0

On this edition of Phillies Nation TV, Corey and I discuss the imminent return of Chase Utley and how he’ll impact a lineup that has shown promise lately.

I report from Wifflepalooza in Aston, PA, where Phillies Nation fielded a team. It was all for a good cause, so us losing badly wasn’t that big a deal.

Natalie Egenolf joins us for reader comments and questions and we discuss our AL All-stars. See if you agree. And in the final segment, we dive into the trade deadline candidates for the Phillies and other teams throughout baseball.

Curt Simmons Day & Egypt Memorial Park Festival

Posted by Brian Michael, Sun, May 06, 2012 11:47 AM Comments: 8

Curt Simmons Day Flyer

On June 2, 1947, The Philadelphia Phillies came to the Egypt Park to play the Egypt team of the old Twilight League. They came to entice Curt Simmons, a 17 year old Whitehall High School pitcher from Main Street in Egypt, to play for the Phillies. Curt Simmons went on to a 20 year career with the Phillies, Cardinals, Cubs and Angels, winning the World Series with the Cardinals in 1964. This game put the new Egypt Memorial Park on the map. The park was officially dedicated as a living memorial to the men and women of World War II on June 6, 1948.

On June 2, 2012 the town of Egypt will host a festival honoring this event which will feature Curt Simmons himself and other Phillies legends.

Happy Veterans Day and thank you to all the brave men and women who serve to protect our country and world.

Send a carepackage to Phillies fans in the military

For the past year, we’ve been sending carepackages to Phillies fans in the armed forces and they’ve been delivered to Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany, even the North Pole. Each carepackage costs $40 to send and includes a DVD, a hat, stickers, a keychain and Phanatic figurines and notes from fans who have donated to pay for the packages. If you would like to sponsor a single package, several, or even just contribute a few dollars towards one, please consider making a donation today. 100% of your money will go towards sending the carepackages.

Here’s what some recipients wrote back:

Your care package was great, and knowing we have your support makes it worth the fight. thanks again.

Got the shirts and stickers! Thanks a lot. I’m going around the FOB and tagging CHU’s with the stickers you sent to pimp out the phils!
