Domonic Brown became the 27th visiting player to hit a ball into McCovey Cove Monday night in San Francisco (although, not sure how they keep records, as it did bounce in on the concrete walkway just in front of the water).

Here it is, in all it’s glory. And check out the flags blowing in.

Watch Biddle’s 16 K Performance

Posted by Pat Gallen, Tue, April 23, 2013 12:33 PM Comments: 3

Jesse Biddle had one of those night’s you can’t explain. On Monday in Harrisburg, Biddle fanned 16 and had a perfect game into the seventh inning. His final pitch count was just 104. Ridiculous.

Here are all 16 K’s, plus his two doubles for good measure. (Courtesy The Trentonian)

Phillies Nation TV: Halladay, Lee, J-Roll & Johari

Posted by Brian Michael, Tue, April 23, 2013 11:07 AM Comments: 0

On this weeks edition of Phillies Nation TV, Pat and Corey dissect the latest outing from Roy Halladay and the positives they’re seeing from the veteran righty. This past weekend, Ken Rosenthal of Fox SportsĀ  mentioned the possibility of Cliff Lee being a trade candidate later in the summer. Will the rumors ramp back up again?

Ryann Williams got an upfront seat for the opening of a new animal hospital in South Jersey, made possible by Jimmy Rollins and wife, Johari. Ryann also has some great questions from the fans, presented by BQ Basement Systems.

Also, find out just how badly Carlos Beltran and Yadier Molina tear up the Phillies. It’s crazy.

All that and more, on PN TV!

Ben Revere’s Catch of the Year Candidate

Posted by Ian Riccaboni, Tue, April 16, 2013 10:14 AM Comments: 4

Ben Revere looked like a man on a mission last night. With a pair of highlight reel catches, Revere pulled out all the stops behind Cliff Lee. Before the game, he dedicated his play to the victims of the Boston tragedy, including a taping a simple message on his glove: Pray for Boston.

For the benefit of those who missed it, here is video of Revere’s catch from last night, courtesy of MLB.com. Two of my favorite things in the video: how stunned the doubled-up Jay Bruce is and how stunned the fans in Cincinnati were! The Reds ended up getting the last laugh, winning 4-2 late, but Revere’s catch will show up on highlight reels for quite a while.

Remembering Harry Kalas

Posted by Brian Michael, Sat, April 13, 2013 01:00 PM Comments: 2

3451052833_824e04032e_oOn this day in 2009, Harry Kalas passed away. He was 73 and just about to call the Nationals home opener against the Phillies.

Living in DC at the time, I remember the day vividly. I had plans to go to the game that night, when I heard the news that Harry collapsed in the broadcast booth. He died shortly after. I still went to the game, not knowing what to except. The walk up to the park certainly felt different from other days. Fellow fans were wearing make-shift memorials on their shirts, many were crying, but all had empty looks on their faces, undoubtedly matching the emptiness that now exists in our hearts and ears.

But as sad as that day was, it’s hard not to remember Harry Kalas without a smile on your face. If Harry wasn’t providing the good times himself, he was usually part of it in some way – bantering with Whitey, calling a great moment in Phillies history, or simply his baritone voice in the background as you went about your evening. His greatness will live on forever.

Please enjoy some memories from our wonderful friend below and visit our Harry Kalas tribute page with many more.
