Be the Next Phillies Nation TV Female Host!

Be the next Phillies Nation TV female host

Phillies Nation is looking for a new female host for the 2013 season. Following in the footsteps of awesome stints by Natalie and Alex, we think you might be the next host to film alongside Pat and Corey.

This is our third year of the TV show. In year 1, we aired exclusively on YouTube. In year 2, we made our way to televisions in the Lehigh Valley on 2Sports. This year, we’re hitting the Philadelphia airwaves through a new partnership with Comcast. The show will be featured on The Comcast Network and CSNPhilly.com.

So if you think you have what it takes to interview ballplayers and local celebrities; to weather rain delays and wind-strapped South Philly, and be the next Phillies Nation Female Host, complete the application below.

Please use the application to let us know about your experience and interest in the Phillies, journalism or other related subjects.  We highly recommend filming a video of yourself discussing the Phillies, but feel free to upload any photos or videos you think will help tell your story.

Note: This is an unpaid position, but it’s perfect if you’re looking to break into the media industry and meet some great people along the way.

Phillies Quizzo raises money for over 1,000 meals for Philabundance

Posted by Brian Michael, Fri, December 07, 2012 12:00 PM Comments: 0

Phillies Quizzo Answer Sheet A BIG hat tip goes out to everyone who attended Phillies Quizzo on Wednesday night. We had 20 teams battle it out for a host of Phillies prizes including a raffle featuring a framed and autographed Roy Halladay “Pride of the Phillies” poster.

Through everyone’s generosity, we were able to raise enough money for Philabundance to provide 1,150 meals for families in the Delaware Valley.

A special thanks to Holy Family University Athletics for sponsoring, Scoats and The Grey Lodge for hosting, Erin for quizzing and the winning team for donating their prize money.

Details for our next charity event, Wiffadelphia on March 9th, are coming soon. In the meantime you can catch Pat hosting Sports Quizzo this Sunday at 6:30 in Center City.

Here are some photos from the event:

Solo Homers Not Enough, Phils Lose In Extras

Posted by Kieran Carobine, Sat, June 09, 2012 09:34 PM Comments: 22

The Phillies one game win streak was short lived as the Orioles won their eighth straight extra inning game with an Adam Jones homer in the bottom of the 12th inning.

Behind the solo efforts from Jimmy Rollins, Jim Thome and Hector Luna the Phillies couldn’t put together enough run scoring chances to put the Orioles away.

Vance Worley suffered from unearned run syndrome today allowing three runs, one earned, in six innings.  Worley struck out five while only walking one and seems to be getting stronger since coming off the DL.

Hunter Pence had his first four hit game in a Phillies uniform going 4 for 5 with four singles.  Juan Pierre, Thome and Luna added two hits each for the Phillies.

This was a frustrating game to watch.  A 6-4 loss in 12 innings is not how I thought this game would end.  The Phillies committed three errors in the fourth inning and I, as a fan, never quite recovered.  B.J. Rosenberg added the final nail giving up the home run to Jones to end the game.

Sorry for the short recap.  It’s a tough loss. Especially with a team that is now seven games back in the NL East.  Cliff Lee is on the mound tomorrow.

Here are some photos Brian took from the game and around Baltimore:

Photos from DC Trip

Despite the Phillies loss yesterday, the Phillies Nation party in DC was a monumental success. A huge thanks to our friends Quimby, Marylin and the crew of Phils Fever for orchestrating the event – 13 buses and over 800 people made the trip. Here are a few photos from the pregame tailgate. (It’s always fun to get a new Phillies tattoo photo!)

Here are the rest of the photos from mine and Pat’s excellent adventure in Clearwater. Check out some of the video footage in the latest episode of Phillies Nation TV.

Among the latest photos are ones from: the awesome St. Patrick’s Day tailgate party hosted by Phils Fever; a minor league game featuring Jim Thome and Phillies catching prospect, Bob Stumpo (also my cousin); a Phillies-Pirates game in Bradenton, FL; and a Phillies-Braves game from Bright House Field.

Pat and I were at today’s Phillies-Braves game in Clearwater. While Pat was broadcasting his ESPN Radio show with Mike Gill, I snapped a few shots around Bright House Field. More Florida footage, including several interviews, will be included in next week’s episode of Phillies Nation TV.
