When the calendar hits March 17, you know it’s time for another Phillies Nation St. Paddy’s Day tailgate party. The skies were grey prior to the Phillies-Yankees game at Bright House Network Field in Clearwater, but that didn’t dampen the our spirits – that job was reserved for Guinness and Yuengling.

Here are more photos from this afternoon’s Spring Training game between the Phillies and Tigers. The Phillies pitching (during “A” games) continues to look strong, as does top prospect Domonic Brown. So with a sunny day, the beautiful backdrop of Bright House Networks Field (without question the finest ballpark in either Spring league), a semi-fancy camera and our favorite Phillie stars, it’s hard to take a bad picture.

Here are a bunch of photos – including a few dozen of Roy Halladay – from today’s Phillies-Pirates Grapefruit League action in Bradenton, FL. A quick summary of the game: Halladay looked solid even though he gave up his first run of the Spring; Placido Polanco sprained his knee after attempting to catch a pop-up in the swirling winds behind the mound; Cody Ransom hit a solo shot to center and played well in Polanco’s absence; Phillies won 5-1.

Photos from Game 1 Watching Party in DC

Last night the Nation descended upon Ventnor Sports Cafe in Adams Morgan, DC. Both floors were packed with rowdy Phillies fans and Scott the owner had pretzels shipped down from Philly. A lone Yankees fan was there to witness the mayhem and he was the only one with a camera, so hat tip to Corey.

Here are some photos from the tailgate party we hosted last night in Washington, DC. It started off as a super fun time in the parking lot, but the Phillies apparently didn’t get the memo and forced us to watch one of their infamous blowout-comeback-heartbreaker games.

On Saturday, Phillies Nation and PhillyTailgate.com teamed up to host a road trip to CitiField. Before the game we gave NY a taste of Philly with a Mummers Parade Phillies-style through the streets of Queens. 250+ Phillies fans danced outside of CitiField in their red before the Phils victory. Check out the photos (in no particular order) and this cool video from the event. If you experienced this awesome day first-hand and have your own photos, please shoot us an email, and we’ll post them too.

Phillies All Stars Report

All five Phillies All Stars received at least one at-bat in the 2009 All Star Game.  Here is how each Phillie contributed:

Chase Utley: 0-for-2 (groundout, fly out). He made a couple spectacular plays at second base.
Raul Ibanez: 0-for-2 (groundout, pop up)
Shane Victorino: 1-for-2. Singled, scored a run in second inning to tie game at two.
Jayson Werth: 0-for-1 (strikeout). Made a fantastic catch in centerfield.
Ryan Howard: 0-for-1 (strikeout) With two on and two outs in the eighth, Howard had a chance to tie the game, or possibly give the National League the lead. Joe Nathan struck him out on a check swing.

The National League lost for the twelfth time since 1996.  With the 4-3 win, the American League will gain home field advantage during the World Series.

Here are some photos of the festivities courtesy of Chris in St. Louis.
