The page of the calendar turned to 2011, putting 2010 behind for good. In 2010, the Philadelphia Phillies failed to reach the World Series, but look forward to a fresh new start in 2011. Although the Phillies were unable to win it all, 2010 was an exciting year filled with lots of memorable moments. Honorable Mentions:
April 12: Phillies home opener. The Phillies had a five-run fifth inning, which included a Chase Utley home run. The Phillies beat the Washington Nationals, 7-4.
Ryan Howard extension: Howard’s five-year, $125 million contract did not make the cut.
July 8: Brian Schnieder came up clutch with a 12th inning walk-off home run against the Cincinnati Reds to give the Phillies a 4-3 victory.
