MTRphilly.com commented on the post, Not-so-Shocking: Hamels Named Opening Day Starter 2 months, 1 week ago
Cole has deserved this since he won the 2008 MVP award. He should have been the opening day starter in 2009. Of course Doc deserved it in the years since, but it is high time that Cole got this honor! Good for […]

MTRphilly.com commented on the blog post Bold Phillies Prediction for 2013 4 months, 2 weeks ago
A lot depends on Roy Halladay’s health. If Doc can dominate and assuming Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee have their normal seasons, the Phillies will be right in the thick of it and make the playoffs. In order to win the division, they need to add a legitimate right handed power bat or Utley and [...]

Great article about Jimmy Rollins. I get sick of people not appreciating how good he really is. Yes there are times that he is frustrating, but Rollins has been a steady contributor for the Phillies and is a big part of their success over the past 6 years or so.

I would have liked to seen the Phillies keep Dave Bush. He looked good in Spring Training last year and could have been a good back up plan or the sixth starter/ long man for the Phillies. I still think he has some good baseball in front of him.

Agreed, they have him on the cheap and they consider him there future. I would love to see him in Phillies red but its not going to happen.

Sorry, patience is NOT a virtue in this case. RAJ needs to get four maybe 5 pieces here. They need at least two outfielders, a REAL third baseman, and at least one bullpen arm. I agree with Jeff’c comment earlier. As it stands this is a 75 maybe 80 win team.

MTRphilly.com commented on the blog post Phillies Player Review: Domonic Brown 6 months, 2 weeks ago
Good points. Scott Boras is his agent so he will want the moon and stars for a contract. I also agree that he has good plate discipline and in addition he has good hand eye coordination. He continues to put the bat on the ball. He now needs to drive the ball more. C+ is [...]

MTRphilly.com commented on the blog post Phillies Player Review: Domonic Brown 6 months, 2 weeks ago
I like Brown and still think that he can be a piece in the outfield for 2012. My thoughts are that he should be a platoon player with whichever right handed bat emerges. I also think the Phillies should kick the tires on Jason Bay. He won’t cost much and if he hits in Spring [...]

MTRphilly.com commented on the blog post Phillies Player Review: Chase Utley 6 months, 2 weeks ago
I don’t think you can count on Utley for more than 120 games. Although I do expect that he will be more productive at the plate, I think it is overly optimistic to think he will be a .300 hitter 30 homerun guy again. I think he is more a .280 15-20 guy.

MTRphilly.com commented on the blog post Phils Considered Frontrunners For B.J. Upton 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I completely degree that BJ Upton is a good option for the Phillies. I think they need two outfielders then let the third position be manned by whoever emerges from Domonic Brown, Darrin Ruff, John Mayberry, Laynce Nix, or Nate Schierholtz or a platoon of them. For third base I think they should consider trading [...]

Congrats to J-Roll. It is a shame that Carlos Ruiz got injured or he probably would have beat out Molina for the GG at catcher. Let’s hope he can stay healthy and have another season like 2012 in 2013.
