” one of the worst cities in America.” The last time I saw, the Dodgers fans were ranked the worst fans in America. Pot calling kettle!

Eric is right. Some people on here need to chill out and take a pill or something. 3rd or 4th place? That is a bit of a stretch. Granted the Marlins and Nats are much better, but to think the Marlins can win 30 more games based on the changes they made is a bit [...]

Just because you “LIVE in North Carolina” does not mean you have to cheer for the Hurricanes! I LIVE in Colorado, and I go to the Minor Leagues Baseball games here because thats the closest, and I can not go without going to live games, but it does NOT mean I am Rockies, Avalanche or [...]

Zachary, I am sorry, but you are incorrect. You are speaking of the “Luxury Tax”. The Luxury Tax is NOT a Salary “Cap”. Any team can go over the “Luxury Tax” all they want, the only penalty, is to pay an additional tax over that Luxury Tax amount. The salary cap is a completely different [...]

Wait. You “do not go to the games” yeat are perfectlly willing to deamonize the Philalphia fan base as the worst, even though you have NO EXPERIENCE? Forgive me if I do not find someone who does not go to games as a reliable source to tell us what fans are like AT a game.

Lets start going through the numbers of NY fans. Why exactly does Philadelphia have a repuation vs say NY? Because the Majority of the reporting and media circus comes from NY! Conveniently the fights associated with NY teams are swept under the rug, unless of course they are playing Philadelphia Teams, then watch out. Game [...]

You are 100% correct, without a doubt. The higher the team salary guarantees they will be better! I mean, for proof just look at the Tampa Bay Rays! oh wait, the only team with a lower salary is Kansas City. Thats it, the Arizona Diamonbacks! No never mind, only the Padres have a lower salary [...]

Brian Sr. of CO commented on the blog post The Turnover of a Championship Team 1 year, 2 months ago
This is great to see. One of the better articles on here in a while. I would also add several other members of the organization who are no longer with the Phillies from 2008. I would say 36 overall. I would say the 33 from the article, but remember Pat Gillick, Jimy Williams and Harry [...]

Agreed in reference to “It’s about who wants it more”. Who is playing better (who is hot) will go further. 2008 the Phillies were NOT the better team, but they were HOT! 2009 was a bit of a crap shoot, but the Yankees were definately hot entering the post season. 2010 and 2011 the Phillies [...]

Its not a thesis for are Masters LOL. I don’t think too many people care about proof reading the posts. I get the point of the particular position the player is in, if they are trade bait. Having the middle infielder ready to go in the farm may not be a big deal if you [...]

Arguing not to trade away players in the Farm system, just to trade them for another player? So its not the fact that he “decimated…player-development pipeline”, but decimated in the wrong areas? Conflicting opinions in one post honestly. It seems the arguement should be aimed more at making better moves overall, as opposed to decimating [...]

I stand corrected on that, Thanks. Can you honestly argue that he is less of a drama story than he once was? I doubt it. His mannerism, expressions, and habits after giving up an XBH has changed during that time as well. Possibly confidence in the addition of the cutter. Probably also maturity.

LOL. We are all on the same page? Not quite. And here I thought it was easy to understand. He is comparing apples to oranges. Age, injury, things like that. there is no way to tell if Moyer or Garland will be able to pitch at previous level, Piniero was signed by the Phillies (that [...]

Hard to tell with someone like Papelbon I think. He is not the T.O. of the baseball world, where you can definitely say he is an Egomaniac like T.O.. What I will say about Papelbon that I like (and it is not the years on the contract) is that he will “man-up” for his mistakes [...]

Brian Sr. of CO commented on the blog post Hamels: Not Focused on Contract Talks 1 year, 2 months ago
I don’t think Cole every really changed his “stuff”, or mechanics honestly. I think he figured out the Mental part of the game. In years past he still had dominant games going (yes including 2009), but then give up a double, and watch out, let the flood gates open. He was a drama queen, and [...]

Brian Sr. of CO commented on the blog post Phillies, Kendrick Agree to Two-Year Pact 1 year, 2 months ago
Agreed. That is a BIG IF! Kendrick is versatile because he can start, or say in the Pen, but adding in the 2nd year is a head scratcher. I was somewhat ok with the 1 year deal meeting in the middle, but for a pitcher which has had little consistency over the years 3+ERA to [...]

Way to not paint a complete picture there! Stellar work ignoring some key compenents. Like say maybe. Jamie Moyer – Missed ALL 2011 season with Tommy John surgery and is 49 years old. Joel Piniero – Signed that contract with the Phillies by a GM that overpays for trash apparently Aaron Laffey – Did you [...]

Not sure what to make of the Utley thing. Last year I said it was probably just precautionary, and he will be fine for Opening Day. We will see. If this year is different, then great! Over/Under 140? Damn near 14 I would say. Granted the report is correct, and they are just going light [...]
