As the Phillies continue their hot ways, so does Ryan Howard. Howard hit his third home run in as many nights tonight to help lead the way against the Braves. The Phillies used four long balls and some good pitching from Kyle Kendrick to win 6-2 and move up another game in the Wild Card [...]

Jimmy Rollins led off the game with a home run. And, well, Ryan Howard finished it with one. The Phillies were trailing the Mets 2-1 in the top of the ninth when Howard hit a two run shot that gave the Phillies the lead for good. Jonathan Papelbon worked the ninth for his 36th save as the [...]

Kieran Carobine wrote a new blog post: Rollins Reaches 2,000 Hits, Phillies Fall to Reds 8 months, 3 weeks ago
With a double in the fifth inning off Reds starter Mat Latos , Jimmy Rollins became the fourth Phillies hitter to collect 2,000 hits in their career. The other three are Mike Schmidt, Richie Ashburn, and Ed Delahanty. All three of which are in the baseball Hall of Fame. Rollins would need just 235 more hits to take [...] -

This match up lived up to the hype. Cole Hamels versus David Price was exactly what they advertised. They combined for 14 innings and only one run was scored. Both of these guys are top tiered left handed pitchers and show up every game ready to go. A long inning for both starters would end their [...]

The Phillies started out their 10 game home stand the right way defeating the Colorado Rockies 7-2. Cole Hamels looked fantastic on the mound tonight going eight innings while only allowing two runs and six hits. Hamels also had seven strikeouts, which puts him one away from 100. Losing 6-2 to the Toronto Blue Jays capped off the Phillies 12th loss in 15 games and the third time they have been swept in a series this season. Thome makes history – Jim Thome hit his fourth home run of the season in the second inning becoming just the fourth player to hit at least 100 [...] -

The Toronto Blue Jays bullpen pitched a five hitter against the Phillies tonight winning 3-0. From what I saw, which wasn’t much, it wasn’t pretty. Blanton was rusty. He was rusty in the sense he hasn’t pitched a good game in quite a while. So he did shake off the stink or rust and threw a hell of a game. As for your Thome’s pace comment I have nothing for you. I can’t help it that you took that so [...]

Stuart, I am not sure where all the confusion is coming from. If you read the article it is pretty clear, to me, what was happening in the game. It is impossible for Lakewood to be fielding when they are at the plate hitting. No biggie, it is a simple mistake.

Yup, these are our Philadelphia Phillies. A constant up and down roller coaster peeking about the .500 line before dropping back down. At one point this season the Phillies were 0-8 when Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee pitched. ————————— The [...]
