Birthday Present

What more can I ask for than a call at midnight from my sister who works at the Phillies informing me that they swept a twi-night doubleheader? There’s all this excitement down here in DC while the Nats are creeping up the division, knocking off the Braves and Florida consecutively. Well little do these beltway folks realize, they’re opening the door for the new power in the East. True, a five team divisional race is much more perilious than the Wild Card hunt, but it makes for much more exciting baseball in the summer months. It’s June 5th, the Phils have won 5 straight…it’s gonna be an exciting rest of the season. At least that’s what I’m saying tonight.
