Oh Well…

Well phellow Phillie phans, another disappointing season.  I can only sit here and wonder what kind of buzz there would have been in this city had the Astros lost and the Phils therefore would have hosted a play in game at CBP after that gutsy comeback by the Eagles.  Not only that, but if they had won that play in game, game four of the divisional series would have been Sunday night at CBP immediatly following the Eagles vs Dallas game.  I can only imagine how much money all the Chickie and Pete’s throughout the city lost when that dream, along with those of the Phils and their fans went up in smoke.

I am not here to make excuses for the Phils or the front office.  I am simply here to suggest that maybe this is as good as it gets with this team.  Charlie certainly was a blundering boob from time to time, but overall what was the real difference between him and Bowa?  An extra two wins?  I am not a Bowa man by any means, but maybe this is this teams potential. 

What is next you might ask?  Well I do not know.  Rumor has it that Wade will be reassigned (a classic Phillies move where they dare not fire their hired man and admit they were wrong) and bring in a new GM.  I contend this is a move that must be made.  After that who knows.  What I do know is that 0 for 8 making the playoffs during the Ed Wade era is not acceptable.  Not to the city or the fans. 

Ultimately,I am still left wondering, “What if?”
