Some interesting reading for the morning:
Phil Sheridan takes a closer look at our favorite player: Valentino Pascucci. The 6’6″, 230 pound Italian-American with Philadelphia ties (his wife is a native) won’t make the Big League club (unless a whole lot of unfortunate events occur), but yesterday he pummeled a pitch into right field, showing his considerable power (34 HR for the AAA Albuquerque Isotopes last season).
Pascucci is probably eighth or ninth on the outfield depth chart (he can play right field) and behind a few others on the first base chart, but who knows, if Pete LaForest (for the trees) can play meaningful baseball in Philadelphia, so could Valentino.
Sheridan suggests Pascucci would be embraced in Philadelphia. Obviously.
