2008 Draft: Final Picks Of Day One

Quick recap of each pick:

No. 102
Vance Worley (RHP, Cal State Long Beach): A junior at CSLB, Worley is a big righty with a good low-90s fastball and sweeping curve.

No. 110
Jonathan Pettibone (RHP, Esperanza HS): Committed to USC, he was a dominating pitcher in high school, leading his league in strikeouts.

No. 136
Trevor May (RHP, Kelso HS): The 6’5″ right-hander was No. 99 in Rivals.com’s high school prep list.

No. 166
Jeremy Hamilton (1B, Wright State): The 185-pound left-hander was the Horizon League Player of the Year and a Golden Spikes finalist. Also played for USA Baseball and is an avid bowler. Pretty good hitter but really good defender.

No. 196
Colby Shreve (RHP, College of Southern Nevada): The 6’5″, 215-pound righty is a “work in progress” and can throw up to 96 mph. He just had Tommy John surgery.
