Now the Phils face losing two of three to San Diego and, thus, pushing their deficit in the NL East back to three games. The Mets defeated the Pirates today, with Johan Santana pitching a three-hit shutout. Awesome, right?
Come On, Cole: The Phillies will turn to Cole Hamels to stop the skidding. He desperately needs his 10th win of the season. Last time out he got barely any run support, the bullpen blew the game, and the Phils lost to the Dodgers.
Hometown Hamels: Tonight, of course, Cole pitches on a national stage in his hometown of San Diego. There he ihas a 2.84 ERA in 12.2 innings.
