Phillies Nation Updates

It’s the World Series and there’s a lot going on here at Phillies Nation in the run up to Game 1 and throughout the Series.  Here’s the rundown.

Contest – If you haven’t submitted your reasons why you are the biggest Phillies fan, you better do it soon, the submission round for entries ends tomorrow.  Remember this is for 2 tickets to Game 4 of the World Series!

We’ve had over 250 entries so far, here is one of the good ones:

After dropping a knife on my foot and severing the tendon in my big toe, I had surgery and was put in a cast. Not just any cast, though. A red one. With a kick-ass P.

Free T-shirts – Congratulations go out to Jersey boys Eric from Collingswood and Matthew from Vineland for each winning a Phillies NL East Champs t-shirt.  Sign up for the next round for a chance to win a Phillies NL Champs shirt.

Game-watching Parties – There will be another game-watching party in Washington, DC tomorrow night for Game 1.  The usual spot, Capitol Lounge, will be the destination – get there early.  For everyone else in the World, leave a comment telling people about your plans on our Phillies Bar page.  We’ve received lots of emails from people looking for places to watch the Phils in Tampa, Austin, Phoenix, San Francisco and Boston.  If you know of something cool, let us know.

Tailgates – Preliminary plans have been put together to host tailgate parties for Games 3 and 4 this weekend in one of the parking lots by the ballpark.  So if you are going to the games, just look for the big red Phillies Nation flag and the grill full of hot dogs and cooler full of beer.

Podcast – Tomorrow at 6pm I will be talking with the guys from the Central Maine Sports Blog about (what else) the World Series. Tune in for some pre-game fun.

…just 1 day remaining until the 2008 World Series.  Go Phils!
