USA Today reports Chan Ho Park announced he won’t pitch for the South Korean World Baseball Classic team.
“I’m very sorry to my fans and the people who wanted me to play in the WBC. I won’t be playing for the national team any more.”
Park broke into tears during the announcement. He said he wants to concentrate on becoming a starter for the Phillies.
“As I’m going to the Phillies, I will do my best there to achieve my goal of becoming a starter,” Park said.
A respectable, novel, and ultimately good decision. Park really wants to be a starter again, and he knows he has a shot as the fifth starter if he succeeds. It’s good to see him expending so much on this goal.
