Andy Martino wrote today about JA Happ’s aggressive tendencies. They came out yesterday against former Phillie Pat Burrell, throwing a fastball near his chin. Said Charlie manuel:
“He’s gotten more aggressive and he’s gotten more comfortable. He don’t back away, whereas before he was a little reluctant. …That’s good that he’s going right in. He’s not backing off. He’s not afraid. That’s determination – I’m going to get you out. I’m going to show I’m better than you. That’s kind of what we’re looking for.”
A far cry from the tenuousness and strenuosness shown by Kyle Kendrick. Reports are indiciating Happ might be the leader in the Fight For Fifth. He clearly is coming into his own right now.
