The Phillies press on without a bunch of players as half the team takes on the Blue Jays in Dunedin, and the other half gets the Jays in Clearwater.
Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino, Carlos Ruiz, JC Romero, Matt Stairs and a trio of Aussie minor leaguers have left the Phillies for their World Baseball Classic squads. That shortens up the roster quite a bit, so the Phils are expending almost all of their hitting resources between the two teams today. The A-squad is in Dunedin; JA Happ and Carlos Carrasco are scheduled to pitch, Eric Bruntlett is in center field and the infield is comprised of Ozuna-Donald-Cairo. The B-squad is in Clearwater; Jamie Moyer and Joe Blanton are scheduled to pitch, Jayson Werth returns to the field (though hitting eighth) and Marcus Giles gets a second base start.
Dunedin: Bruntlett (CF) / Cairo (3B) / Ibanez (DH) / Howard (1B) / Mayberry (RF) / Ozuna (2B) / Slayden (LF) / Donald (SS) / Paulino (C).
Clearwater: Ellison (CF) / Giles (2B) / Jenkins (RF) / Dobbs (DH) / Marson (C) / Cervenak (3B) / Tracy (1B) / Werth (LF) / Valandia (SS).
