Cairo Designated; Carpenter to Pitch Game Two

According to David Murphy via Twitter, Miguel Cairo has been designated for assignment and despite the fact that Saturday is Kyle Kendrick’s day to pitch with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Andrew Carpenter will pitch game two of the Phillies double header against the Nationals.

J.A Happ was scheduled to pitch but because of his relief appearance on Friday night, Carpenter will pitch in his second major league game.
