Phillies Walk Off In 6-5 Thriller

Shane Victorino took the fourth ball and strolled to first. Pedro Feliz crossed the plate, and the Phillies took the second game of a three gamer against the Mets, 6-5, in 10 innings.

The 10th-inning rally came without the ball ever leaving the infield. Feliz gutted out his second infield hit, Matt Stairs was hit by a Shawn Green pitch, Chris Coste walked and Victorino applied the game-winning appearance.

The win went to Jack Taschner, who worked magic, inducing an inning-ending double play by Carlos Beltran with the go-ahead run 90 feet away. He relieved Brad Lidge, making his first appearance since a knee inflammation scare, and Ryan Madson, who pitched a shutout eighth — thanks to a huge gundown by Jayson Werth. Clay Condrey escaped a Jamie Moyer and Scott Eyre’s mess in the sixth and threw a scoreless seventh.

The Phils had an early lead thanks to evil Oliver Perez. Jimmy Rollins collected a clutch RBI single in the early frames, among the runs. But Moyer and Eyre combined to let up five runs, putting the Phillies behind for the first time in the game. That brought in Raul Ibanez: There’s nothing this man can’t do.
