Chase is back, Ryan could be right behind him. Charlie Manuel said it should be just a few more days and although he hasn’t decided if Howard needs a rehab assignment, it shouldn’t be long before we see the Phillies slugger.
Joe Blanton gets the ball tonight and he hasn’t had a really solid performance all season. In fact, his ERA in the first inning over his last eight games is 14.63! His ERA for the season is hovering around the mid-5’s, so a lockdown outing would be welcomed. And as bad as he’s been early on in games, and as inconsistent as he’s been all year, the Phillies are somehow 6-0 in his last six starts at home.
On the other side, it’s Matt Cain. His 9-9 record is not indicative of the way he’s pitched this year, the poor guy just gets no run support. Cain is one of the more underappreciated pitchers in all of baseball and gets less recognition behind Tim Lincecum. He’s faced the Phillies four times in his career and is 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA in 20 innings of work. However, SF has won five of his last six starts. Something’s got to give.
Oh, and how about no more Burrell homers? Although it was cool to see him knock one out and still have the Phils come away victorious.
I don’t know many people that drink Boddingtons, and I don’t know why. It’s a damn fine beverage. It’s also not too strong (4.7% abv). Boddingtons is renowned for its golden color, distinctive creamy head, smooth body and easy drinking character, and is considered a medium-bodied pale ale. It has a creamy, malty and slightly sweet flavor and features a clean, pleasant aftertaste. Have it with some seared tuna with a little kick of spices to it, it’ll go well.- By Pat
