INJURY UPDATES:
–Brad Lidge will bring it back to Philly to have his elbow examined by Dr. Michael Ciccotti. He’s been feeling some discomfort, according to Ruben Amaro Jr., which is not a good sign. He’s already had a few different setbacks, so this is nothing new. But a June return is now looking very unlikely, unless some good news comes from this visit.
–Jimmy Rollins says his knee is feeling better and he’s walking with a less pronounced limp (although Jimmy likes to strut, you know). Amaro says a few more days on the bench for J-Roll, which backs up what Jimmy tweeted today. I believe that’s the first time any Phillies player has broken any news via twitter, but hey, it’s the way of the world.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are in town for their lone trip of the season, and man is their lineup ugly tonight. Jamey Carroll and Aaron Miles will be in the top two spots, plus Rod Barajas is in it, which is always a pleasure to see.
Good news: Domonic Brown will start against a lefty for the first time this season. Right field is his.
Also Good News: Placido Polanco has extended his lead in the all-star balloting for third basemen over Chipper Jones by over 400,000 votes.
