The Phillies are moving up the standings!  They’re currently tied for third place.  A win and a Mets loss could put them in sole possession of third place. Disappointing, depressing, but it’s better than last.

Homer Bailey had a terrific month of July, but has struggled so far in August.  A reason for his recent struggles could be due to his innings pitched.  Bailey has never pitched this many innings in one season, as he is at a career-high in innings pitched.  If Bailey is tired out, the Phillies need to take advantage.

Cliff Lee needs to keep the ball in the yard and avoid the bad inning.  Lee has surrendered 22 home runs in 21 starts this season.  Lee tends to have that one bad inning where he gives up multiple runs.

Your Gameday Beer: Kalik. This is the King of Beers in the Bahamas. The brew was designed by Heineken for the Commonwealth Brewery based on the tastes of the islanders. As you can imagine, it has all the qualities of an ice-cold Bud or Corona – fizzy, yellow, and way too easy to drink on a hot summer day.
