Cliff Lee takes the hill for the first time this Spring against the defending AL Champion Tigers. Tyler Cloyd, Michael Stutes, Phillippe Aumont, Jonathan Papelbon, and Raul Valdes are scheduled to follow Lee.

The Phillies will face Tigers’ Rule 5 pick Drew Smyly. Smyly, a fellow Arkansan, is represented by the same agent as Lee and worked with Lee in the offseason to improve his game, focusing on the cutter.
