2013 Spring Training

Ruf’s Walk-off Lifts Phils Over Braves

Adam Morgan pitched 4 and 2/3 innings, striking out five and giving up one earned keeping the Phils in the game until Darin Ruf walked it off in the 9th to give the Phillies a 7-6 win over their division rivals.

The Good

Ruf’s 2-4 day, with a homer, a single, and a wakl, lifted his Spring average to .246. Erik Kratz went 3-4 and was a triple away from the cycle. Morgan pitched well against the Braves’ starters and Ryan Howard and Yuniesky Betancourt each had two hits.

Areas of Opportunity

Solid game all around except for  shaky appearances from Chad Durbin, who allowed three earned in 1 and 1/3, and Zach Miner, who tight roped out of self-inflicted jam to only allow one earned.
