Gameday: Phillies (24-27) vs. Red Sox (32-20)

Philadelphia Phillies (24-27) at Boston Red Sox (32-20)

Cliff Lee (5-2, 2.48) vs. Ryan Dempster (2-5, 4.69)

TIME: 7:05, Fenway Park
TV:
Comcast Sportsnet
Weather: 60s, partly cloudy
Media: Twitter and Facebook

If he truly is dealing with a knee issue, then why isn’t Ryan Howard the DH tonight? The lineup remains the same as in the opener of the series, when the Red Sox trounced the Phillies 9-3.

Domonic Brown was named the National League’s Player of the week. In his last six games, Brown hit .348 with two home runs, a triple and two doubles to go along with seven RBIs. It’s great to see him finally living up to the hype, leading the team with 10 homers. I know that “on pace” means little, but 31 homers and 90 RBI is pretty solid for a guy that many people wanted out of town after just about 450 AB’s.

Cliff Lee is truly the Phillies only hope. They’ll need a major shutdown performance from their ace tonight if they have any thoughts of winning. This Red Sox team can strike quickly, as we saw last night.

Lineup: Revere CF, M. Young, 3B, Rollins SS, Howard 1B, D. Young DH, Brown LF, Mayberry RF, Galvis 2B, Kratz C

Your Gameday Beer: Manayunk Brewing Hive Honey IPA

I’ve not yet had this particular brew from Manayunk Brewing, but it sounds delightful. This copper ale will take your palate for a spin. This brew is loaded up with our favorite American hops and complimented by a touch of raw honey procured from a local hive. Using a small amount of specialty malt and nearly every method of hopping possible, we present to you this delicious seasonal. Sounds sweet. – PG
