Philadelphia Phillies (26-29) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (20-33)
Tyler Cloyd (1-1, 5.74) vs. Wily Peralta (3-6, 6.35)
TIME: 4:05, Citizens Bank Park
TV: Comcast SportsNet
Weather: 91, scattered clouds
The Phillies will look to avoid their third straight loss, and Tyler Cloyd will look to rebound from his worst outing of the season, in which he allowed six runs on nine hits and lasted just 2 1/3 innings against Boston. His location absolutely has to be spot on today against a tough offensive team. Offense is Milwaukee’s strong point, not to mention another bat is all of the sudden in the mix for the Crew, as Jonathan Lucroy has heated up and is coming off a monster night last night where he went 5-for-5 with two homers and four RBI.
The Brewers, who have had starting pitching problems all year will send the right-hander Wily Peralta to the mound, who is the owner of a 6.35 ERA. No current Phillies player has ever had an at bat against Peralta, and the righty has allowed at least four runs in each of his last four starts for Milwaukee.
Red-hot Domonic Brown will be in the lineup for the Phillies looking to continue his out-of-this world power surge that has him sitting atop the N.L. in homers with 15. He will be batting third for the first time this year, as Jimmy Rollins will not be playing today due to soreness after fouling several pitches off his foot yesterday. Here is how the rest of the lineup looks:
Lineup: Revere CF, Hernandez 2B, Brown LF, Howard 1B, D. Young RF, Frandsen SS, Kratz C, Galvis 3B, Cloyd P
Brewed locally in the Lehigh Valley, perhaps this malty, smoky ale will bring former IronPig, and 2012 International League Pitcher of the Year some succes today with the big club. This ale, which is brewed with a bit of scotch, features some caramel, roasted barley and earthy tones, and at 8.5% ABV, if the Phillies do have a bad game you might not even remember it.
