Phillies Win, Team Still Intact

As the rumors fly on Twitter, the Phillies remain whole…for now. They snapped an 8-game losing streak, defeating the San Francisco Giants, 7-3. The game was secondary to everything else surrounding the club.

Michael Young, who homered in what could be his final game in a short stint with the Phillies, said he has no idea if anything will happen as the trade deadline strikes at 4 pm. tomorrow.

As of this writing it appears Cliff Lee is staying put. There has been little traction on several other Phillies, at least publicly. That doesn’t mean they’ll stand pat.

Regardless, they played much better baseball in front of a pretty decent crowd at CBP. Over 36,000 packed the stands and there was actually some juice from the crowd even though the Phillies had just come off a season-defining road trip that went south in a hurry and never recovered.
