Phils Sign Roger Bernadina

The Phillies have signed OF Roger Bernadina and optioned Michael Martinez back to triple-A Lehigh Valley, according to their official Twitter account. The Phils’ allegedly had interest in Bernadina when the 29 year old was released from the Nationals earlier this week.

The addition of Bernadina could really help the Phillies in the outfield, as he could see a lot of time in center field with Ben Revere

still sidelined. He had a pretty good season last year for the Nationals in a backup role, but has struggled in 2013. However, he has a very good stolen base percentage (56/67).

He’ll wear number 3.
