In his first rehab start, with the Gulf Coast League Phillies, Doc gave up three earned runs in six innings, striking out four while walking three.

To replace the injured John Lannan, Tyler Cloyd has been summoned from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Cloyd is 3-1 in his last five starts with a 1.66 ERA and a .172 BAA for the IronPigs and had a 3.41 ERA in six prior starts with the Phillies in 2013. In a corresponding move, Raul Valdes has been optioned to Triple-A. In 17 appearances with the Phillies in 2013, Valdes has a 7.46 ERA.
