CBS Crew Predicts Splash for Phils in Offseason
Danny Knobler of CBS thinks the Phillies will make a splash with Ellsbury this offseason.
CBS Sports’ team of experts took to the web to predict the destination of some of baseball’s top free agents. A few of their panel had the Phillies making a move to solidify their outfield. Danny Knobler was, perhaps, the boldest, predicting the Phillies would sign Jacoby Ellsbury:
Knobler: Phillies. Could he leave? Could they let him go? Yes. Desperate Phillies step up and sign him.
Meanwhile, Jon Heyman, Scott Miller, and Dayn Perry all predicted a slightly smaller splash in right handed outfielder Nelson Cruz:
Heyman: Phillies. Philly is desperate for outfield help after recent personnel errors there.
Miller: Phillies. After Delmon Young last year, the Phillies can’t swing and miss in the outfield again, can they?
Very interesting – this may be the most up-in-the-air offseason for the Phillies in quite some time.
