According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Phillies, Red Sox, and Royals are among the teams interested in free agent right-handed reliever Ryan Madson. Rosenthal notes that Madson is unlikely to be signed until teams watch him throw in February. Madson hasn’t pitched in the Major Leagues since Game 5 of the NLDS in 2011 but had signed one year deals with the Reds and Angels in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Madson missed all of 2012 and 2013, aside from an attempted 2013 rehab assignment, with elbow problems.
