Pettibone pitched well as a 22-year old rookie for the Phillies last year before succumbing to shoulder soreness.
An early report from CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury says Jonathan Pettibone did not throw today due to shoulder soreness. Pettibone, 23, went 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA last season before being sidelined with a strained right shoulder in July. It is believed that Pettibone will compete for the fifth starter starter spot with Roberto Hernandez and Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez.
