A Note for Tonight:
No Chase Utley in the lineup again tonight against Milwaukee, he’s still dealing with the flu. Ryne Sandberg mentioned he looked like a ghost and was only in the ballpark for about 30 minutes yesterday when the team sent him home so that no one else in the clubhouse would get whatever he’s walking around with. They could have used his prowess with runners in scoring position last night as the Phillies left runners on in each of the first seven innings.
Cody Asche also gets a breather, he’ll make way for Jayson Nix at third base. Asche was out early with Larry Bowa taking grounders after yesterday’s error (which really was on Ryan Howard to scoop, but I digress). Chooch stays in the three-hole tonight.
Will the Phillies fans boo Ryan Braun after his offensive explosion last night? Ryne Sandberg says he’s more focused on the pitchers being cautious of the slugger. Don’t boo, guys. It’s not working.
