The Phillies announced today that they have outrighted 38-year old veteran pitcher Shawn Camp. Camp, just two years removed from leading baseball in appearances, gave up two earned runs in three and a third innings pitched for the Phillies in 2014. Righty Luis Garcia has been called up to take his place. Garcia, 27, has a 3.62 ERA in 25 MLB appearances. Garcia made one appearance thus far in 2014, earning a strikeout.
Camp can choose to accept the demotion or elect to become a free agent.
