Manship to DL, Ruf to Triple-A

The Phillies made two moves Sunday morning, placing relief pitcher Jeff Manship–who threw four perfect innings during yesterday’s 14-inning loss to the Mets–on the 15 day DL, and optioning Darin Ruf to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Replacing Manship and Ruf will be Phillippe Aumont and Cesar Jimenez, both relievers. After 28 innings in two days, the bullpen needed some help. The Phillies are now at 13 pitchers. Jimenez was not on the 40-man roster, so an additional move must be made.
