Bob Nightengale, a very respected national writer from USA Today, tweeted earlier today that teams are still attempting to make a push for Phillies starter Cole Hamels, but to no avail.
Apparently, the Phillies would like to pry a big time catching prospect from the Boston Red Sox, but they aren’t budging.
It’s a very risky proposition for Amaro to unload his most valuable player and not get a good enough return. And really, any return he gets may not pan out. If I were a betting man, I’d put down a few dollars that he stays here until the trade deadline. Then, all bets are off.
The #Phillies want prized catching prospect Blake Swihart from #Redsox in deal for Hamels. The Red Sox continue to refuse. #stalemate

There are 5 to to 6 teams still trying to trade for #Phillies ace Cole Hamels but no one yet close to coming up with package Phillies covet.
