Yesterday’s recap:
Jonathan Papelbon became the all-time Phillies leader in saves last night as the Phillies claimed victory, 3-2. Jeff Francoeur was able to end the game on an assisted double play to help Papelbon claim the reigns, after he gave up a walk and threw a wild pick-off which put pinch-runner, Steve Lombardozzi, on third base with one out in the 9th inning.
A Note for Tonight:
Aaron Harang will look to continue his success on the mound for the Phillies, as our old friend, Vance ‘The Vanimal’ Worley gets the start for Pittsburgh. Herrera finds his way back into the lineup tonight after a second day off for the season, and Cesar Hernandez gets the start at third again, holding the spot for the expected Maikel Franco to be called up from triple-A.
Freddy Galvis is still proving to be one of the hottest bats in the Major League shortstop position, leading the league in AVG (.336) and OBP (.781).
The Phillies will look to split the series in the final game against the Pirates, first pitch is at 1:05 EST.
Lineup:
Revere CF, Galvis SS, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Hernandez 3B, Sizemore RF, Herrera CF, Rupp C, Harang RHP
