The Phillies will look to rebound from a shutout against the Mets this weekend and four straight loses which included a sweep against the New York team who has been struggling of late.
Cole Hamels has found success on the mound among a mixed bag offense and will look to continue his win streak to five in a row. Cole has pitched 7 innings or more in four of his last five starts, and has given up only 5 runs since giving up 6 on May 2nd in his last loss.
The Phillies offense had 8 hits on the day on Tuesday, but weren’t able to score a run. Only Ben Revere and Grady Sizemore were able to bank more than one hit for the game as well. Over the series against the Mets, the Phillies gathered 25 hits and scored 7 runs while leaving 36 on base.
Chad Bettis gets to see the Phillies again, after he gave up 8 hits and 3 runs in 6.0 innings on May 19th in Colorado. This will be Bettis’ fourth start in the Major Leagues this year after starting in Triple-A Albuquerque.
