The Phillies are switching the starter up for Thursday’s game. 34-year old Kevin Correia has been designated for assignment and in a corresponding move 22-year old Severino Gonzalez has been recalled. Correia, in his 13th Major League season, was 0-3 with a 6.56 ERA in five starts while Gonzalez is 3-2 with a 8.28 ERA in six starts. Despite the higher ERA, Gonzalez has a lower FIP, WHIP, H/9 IP, and HR/9 IP. Gonzalez will take the hill for Thursday’s game.
